The festive fun continues this week in Edmonds, with a caroling contest, The Nutcracker, Art Walk Edmonds and more! The free Holiday Trolley will take you on a merry tour of downtown, stopping at the Holiday Market and 7 other stops.

 Sunday, Dec. 16: Live performances

The Phoenix Theatre’s Twist of the Magi, continues its holiday run by popular demand. The crowd-pleasing hit is a funny, fractured version of O’Henry’s classic tale “Gift of the Magi,” set in a 1940s radio station as a live on-air broadcast.  This is a 2pm matinee performance.

 Catch the Edmonds Driftwood Players perform Tony-winning “Peter and the Starcatcher”, upending the century-old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up (a.k.a. Peter Pan), 2pm at the Wade James Theater.

 The Nutcracker is a holiday tradition for many! Enjoy the Olympic Ballet Company's performances and Create Your Holiday Tradition. This Sunday’s performance starts a little early at 5pm at the Edmonds Center for the Arts.

 Monday, Dec. 17: Go shopping for the art lover

The last week of holiday shopping has arrived. Still crossing off that list for the Naughty and Nice? If there is an artist or an art lover on your list, Treat Yourself to Edmonds. Here’s some shopping ideas for you: Gallery North is an artist-run fine art gallery in downtown Edmonds, exclusively representing the work of talented local artists. This month, the gallery’s artists have created items perfect for gift giving and customers can shop from the gallery’s Christmas tree for distinctive ornaments, stocking stuffers, and small gift items. Cascadia Art Museum’s gift shop has some great finds. The Art Spot has art supplies for the active artist—beginner or experienced.

 Tuesday, Dec. 18: Holiday on the Dock

Relax. You got this. You’ve enjoyed live holiday performances, shopped in boutiques and visited galleries, and rode the holiday trolley through town. Time to take a stroll on the Edmonds waterfront. Festive boats, decorated for the holidays, are moored in the marina all month long. Enjoy.

 Wednesday, Dec. 19: Caroling Contest

“Jingle Those Bells” is a community caroling contest at 6pm on at the Red Twig patio on 5th Avenue. People can form a group, sign up and compete with their favorite holiday carols or simply stop by and enjoy the music – and vote for your favorite performers.

 Thursday, Dec. 20: Art Walk Edmonds

Art Walk Edmonds is a FREE community event on the Third Thursday of the month, from 5-8pm. Join galleries, merchants, neighbors and friends in celebrating the arts and cultivating local vitality.

 Friday, Dec. 21: Christmas favorites performance

Ten-time Grammy Award-winning vocal sextet Take 6 will bring a fusion of R&B, gospel, and pop to this program of Christmas favorites at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. Pre-Show Happy Hour from 5:30pm - 7pm with $5 drink specials and food plates from Shooby-Doo Catering!

 Saturday, Dec. 22: Trolley ride and holiday market

The Holiday Market has more than 40 vendors offering produce, preserves, edibles, holiday gifts and greenery, wines, ciders, baked goods, specialty gift items and more.  The Holiday Trolley rolls through town. The free trolley makes a loop between the historic downtown core and the Edmonds waterfront, giving shoppers a chance to rest their feet and tour the town. Kids love it!
