Edmonds’ 11th Annual Holiday Trolley

They say behind every great man is a great woman. In Santa’s case, he has two: Mrs. Claus and Emily The Elf, the latter of whom shares her holiday time with us each year to spread cheer in Edmonds. This year, the trolley’s eleventh, she’ll be back on our free trolley handing out candy canes and stickers while she adds an extra dose of joy to your already magical holiday season.

Whether you’re creating a new tradition or back for your annual time with your favorite elf, this is a holiday experience like none other.

Save These Holiday Trolley + Emily (and Richard!) The Elf Dates

  • December 6th (with a special appearance from the Edmonds king of Christmas himself, Richard Taylor Jr.)

  • December 13th

  • December 20th

Hop on the trolley with Emily and start your ride at any of the seven downtown trolley stops between 11am-6pm the first three Saturdays of December. These completely free rides (Have we mentioned they’re free? Check out our list of sponsors below and send them some love since they’re the ones who made this all possible) allow you to tour the town with your loved ones while humming your favorite carols.

Bar-um-pum-pum-pum

The trolley comes by every thirty minutes, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to catch it. Find the trolley map and dates here and plan to hop off at a few key places. Don’t worry, the trolley always returns, so your activity breaks won’t impact your ride back to your car. Remember, no food or drinks, please and thanks!

HERO Ace Hardware Trolley Stop

One stop on the trolley loop this year is at HERO Ace Hardware. Make sure you don’t just queue up in the cold, though. They’re hosting games and will have hot cocoa for the kiddos inside! And you never know what goodies you’ll find here to cross off your gift list.

Pear Tree Consignment Trolley Stop

Pop off the trolley in front of Pear Tree Consignment and wander through the curated apparel, handbags and accessories—you’re sure to find something special! Then head across the street to Musicology Co for family-friendly karaoke at your favorite record shop, and don’t forget to grab some melodic gifts. Be sure to explore all the shops and restaurants in the area!

Hazel Miller Plaza Trolley Stop

This is a great spot to stop for lunch at a nearby restaurant, or maybe even dine in the plaza if weather permits! While you’re there, get your photo taken with Santa at Canarino Gelato—reserve a time to make it easy.

Slate Salon Trolley Stop

Grab a Slate Salon gift card for a pampering gift, then cross the street to Main Street Commons where you’ll find all the food and treats you could want—from crumpets to pizza and burgers to ice cream (and wine for the 21+ crowd). Be sure to check for live music! This is a great starting point to explore all of downtown.

Thai Cottage Trolley Stop

This centrally-located stop near the fountain gives you VIP access to the Holiday Market, and all of the shops and restaurants (including the trolley stop namesake) in the center of town!

Calypso Trolley Stop

When you step off the trolley here, be sure to look for the cute sidewalk drawings by Jen at Calypso, then pop in to catch some Caribbean vibes! You can head up the hill for great shopping, or head down to Rory’s of Edmonds for great pub food, grab a coffee at Waterfront Coffee, or score a spot on Demetris Woodstone Taverna’s deck for the best view in town. If you’re a holiday lover you MUST check out La Palmera's Christmas Cantina! Then bop down to the waterfront to catch a winter sunset.

Cascadia Art Museum Trolley Stop

Once you disembark at Cascadia Art Museum, get into the holiday spirit with hands-on card making, inspired by the museum’s Vintage Christmas Card exhibition (which you must see!). After enjoying the art and the gift shop, be sure to explore all of Salish Crossing. Hungry? Check out Epulo Bistro, Niles Peacock Kitchen & Bar, Spud Fish & Chips and Top Pot Doughnuts. Thirsty? Visit Scratch Distillery and Brigid’s Bottle Shop. You can even knock some gifts off your list at Stranded by the Sea and Jester’s Pet Supply. Plus there’s plenty of parking!

Pro tip: Don’t forget your Festive Drink Bingo card, this is a great place to gather stamps.
